Long Island Cares – The Harry Chapin Regional Food Bank has been on a mission to feed Long Islanders facing food insecurity and address its root causes since our founding by the late Harry Chapin in 1980.

Contact Us

Looking to get help from – or get involved with – Long Island Cares – The Harry Chapin Food Bank? Then we would like to hear from you. We operate out of three locations, which also house three emergency food pantries as well as our pet pantries: our Huntington location, the Nassau Service Center in Freeport and the South Shore Service Center in Lindenhurst. If you are in need of emergency food, these three food pantries act as emergency pickup locations.

For the week of 5/18/2026, due to the reconstruction of our parking lot, please access our food pantry from our back parking lot.

Temporary Pantry Directions:
  • Use the address of the Ortho Fitness & Sports in your GPS - 355 Hicksville Road
  • Once you enter the driveway, our entrance is between that business and the Cannon Collisions business.
  • Drive into the driveway as far as you can go, and make a left.
  • Our building is situated near the dumpsters by the fence shared with Popei's Restaurant.
